Video recipe for making Viennese shortbread cookies:

Let's cook shortbread dough and for this we put it out of the refrigerator butter, and leave at room temperature for a while so that it becomes soft. I saw in some recipes how the authors advised to melt the butter. I will say right away that it is better not to do this, as it greatly affects the taste of cookies. And in general for shortcrust pastry butter is always used soft, but not melted. The difference in taste is very noticeable, if you don’t believe me, you can make part of the cookies with soft butter, and part with melted butter.

Break the eggs into a deep bowl, add the baking powder, pour the sugar and beat with a whisk for several minutes.

Then add softened butter and mix well. In this case, you can use a mixer, so that the mass will be easier to stir.

Pour the flour into the liquid mass and knead the steep dough.

Divide the dough into 2 parts (one part more, the second less), put in bags and send to the refrigerator larger piece dough, and place a smaller piece in the freezer for 30-40 minutes.

We evenly distribute most of the dough in shape, forming sides around the edges so that the jam does not flow out.

Spread the jam evenly over the top. I want to say that the taste of cookies also largely depends on the jam. I used redcurrant jam. Yes, the cookies turned out very tasty, but it seems to me that it would be suitable here. better jam from blueberries. Maybe it's because I really like blueberry jam.

On top we rub the second piece of dough on a coarse grater. We send the Viennese cookies to a preheated oven to 200C and bake for about 30-40 minutes.

Let the finished product cool completely and then cut into small pieces.

Enjoy your meal!

No matter how many baking recipes exist, every housewife still has her own crown cake. The most delicious, lush, tender and simply amazing. All this can be said about the Viennese pie - a popular treat that is usually topped with a layer of berries or jam. Today we will prepare a Viennese pie with pink jam mixed into the dough itself. These pastries are so fragrant that your guests will ask for sweet table!

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour - 150 g__NEWL__
  • Eggs – 2 pcs __NEWL__
  • Sugar - 100 g__NEWL__
  • Rose Petal Jam – 2 tbsp __NEWL__
  • Butter - 100 g__NEWL__
  • Baking powder for dough - 1.5 tsp __NEWL__

Cooking:

1. Viennese pie should be very soft and tender. You can give him these qualities only by thoroughly beating eggs with sugar. So that's what we'll do. Put two eggs in a mixer, add sugar and beat well. Can be used instead of sugar powdered sugar- then the dough will be even softer.

2. Butter, previously taken out of the refrigerator, should be soft. We cut it into cubes (to make it easier to beat) and put it in a mixer. Turn on the device and beat the butter together with the egg mixture. It is necessary to ensure that all pieces of butter are completely melted, and the mass becomes homogeneous.

3. This is the kind of "featherbed" we get. This most delicate mass is not yet transferred anywhere.

4. In a large bowl, stir the flour with the baking powder. This must be done before adding the liquid mass, otherwise the baking powder will not mix well, and there will be large air holes in the finished cake.

5. Add the liquid mixture to the flour and stir with a spoon. The dough should be neither sticky nor runny.

6. Now you can add our fragrant ingredient - rose petal jam. If you have had it for a long time and have already managed to sugar, first you need to put a couple of tablespoons of jam in a small saucepan or bowl and melt over low heat. Before spreading the jam in the dough, cool it to room temperature. After adding the jam, knead the dough well: it acquires a pinkish tint. It smells just amazing, so it’s better not to show this treasure to children! At least while it's raw.

7. Lubricate the baking dish with a piece of butter (both the bottom and the walls), then lightly sprinkle with flour. All this must be done so that the finished cake does not stick to the mold. After processing the form, put the dough into it with a spoon. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and put the Viennese pie to bake. It will take about half an hour for the dish to be fully cooked.

If the crust is browned enough, and the dough does not stick to the match, then the Viennese pie is ready! A great addition to tea drinking with a wonderful aroma of roses!

Cook Viennese cookies - just spit! Even a child and a beginner in cooking will cope with the task. It's so simple that sometimes it's even funny.

Such pastries will never be superfluous. It can be eaten with tea, for breakfast or late dinner. You can take it to work or on a picnic. In addition, it is good because you are sure of its quality. Only you know what is in the composition and how useful it is.
